The department of Social Work aims to:

  1. Apply critical thinking skills in the context of professional values, ethics and principles; and utilize relevant concepts and methodologies in present situation of the community;
  2. Produce quality graduates that contributes to the holistic development of the society; and
  3. Apply knowledge of various factors that affect individual development; and utilize theoretical frameworks and concepts to understand interactions among individuals and between individual’s social system.

  1. Equip students with the skills and confidence to lead community initiatives and participatory development projects.
  2. Engage students in service-learning, decision-making, and volunteer programs to build a sense of civic responsibility.
  3. Ensure all students, including underrepresented and marginalized groups, are welcomed and supported in community development activities.
  4. Strengthen the ability of student groups and partner communities to plan, implement, and sustain projects addressing local needs.
  5. Promote environmental stewardship by integrating sustainability principles into student-led initiatives.
